In third grade, I had to make a poetry book for my Language Arts class and it had to feature self-written poems. The teacher gave us a week to do this assignment. I went straight home from school, got some paper and a pencil and I finished my book of poetry that night. Twenty three poems. Once I started writing, I found that I could not stop. I did not want to stop. That has been the story of my life since that day in 3rd grade until today and hopefully all the future tomorrows. Writing is who I am and every time I sit to write, I come home.
I love William Shakespeare (The Tempest is my absolute favorite piece of literary work/genius), Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, the Brontë sisters, Pablo Neruda, Paulo Coelho, Thomas Hardy, Nicholas Sparks, Mia Sheridan, Molly O'Keefe. The list truly goes on and varies by genre and century.
I am pretty old school in that I still write using a pen and paper. It gets my creative juices flowing and at times, the words just overflow and I find my hands stuggling to keep up with my characters on their journey. It's the best feeling ever! I even love the calluses on my fingers from the labor of keeping up with my thoughts and ideas. I then transfer my writing to my laptop. It might sound like more work, but it is my style. There is something special and comforting about the feel of a pen on paper. Hopefully you all like my writing style as well. My Debut novel will be released in October so please keep an eye out for it. I look forward to hearing from you all. Thank you for visiting my site!
